events and weather in LA
Aloha Los Angeles!
I hope you're enjoying all the events as Outer Edge rolls into Los Angeles. The week is full of events and it's worth taking a look at all the side events that might suit your fancy. Note that events are happening all the way into next week so steel your nerves for the while ride into a dwindling, percolating, or rebuilding web3.
Outside of web3, there's plenty of events in art, tech, entertainment, and everything intersecting; LA do as LA do. So if you're tired of hearing about how Bitcoin is going to go to the moon because SVB and Credit Suisse are empty shells of their former selves, you'll get peace of mind in the other worlds LA has to offer.
Enjoy the meets and greets.
P.S. Ted Lasso's back since last week. You know the drill. Click on Apple+.
WHAT'S POPPIN IN LA
monday (3/20)
CryptoMondays Presents: Outer Edge LA Launch Party - It's a crypto week, so why not start the week on crypto?
tuesday (3/21)
Chainlink at Outer Edge: Unlocking the Potential of Non-Fungible Tokens - Grab some free eats and check in on where NFT's are headed next.
wednesday (3/22)
BitAngels Hollywood Investors Blockchain Pitch Event - Skip over to the BitAngels event and get a taste of what crypto investors and founders are building these days.
SekerDAO's The Meeting - Music, art, content, and more at SekerDAO's? And they've even got photo and video sessions and awesome music. Why not?
thursday (3/23)
Founder & Investor Hike - And after all that drinking and elbow rubbing, get up to a hike and see the sights. Honestly, hiking is better networking than small talk in poorly lit bars.
NFT LA Afterparty - Oh, there's so many NFT LA / Outer Edge after parties, it's truly hard to pick. This one's good because it's got the intersection of NFT's, entertainment, tech, and everyone that wants to get in with any of the above.
friday (3/24)
The Best of Israeli Entertainment and Gaming Tech Startups - Enough of LA. Why not check out what Israeli startups are up to?
Techstars Startup Weekend Irvine - Or maybe, closer to home, what startups in Irvine are up to? Although, it's more likely an Angeleno travels to Israel than to Irvine on a given day of bad traffic.
saturday (3/25)
Jeff Golblum at the Orpheum Theater - Remember that mathematician guy in Jurassic Park? Well, he also plays the piano and tells jokes on stage. And he's in LA this weekend.
Cirque de Soleil: Corteo - Also, friendly reminder that the Canadian circus is still in town and always worth a watch.
sunday (3/26)
LA Lakers vs the Chicago Bulls - The Lakers are also playing against the Bulls. A quintessentially LA thing to do on the weekend...
Vegan Street Fair - Or even more quintessentially LA? Veganism.
WEATHER
A touch of rain to start the week, warming up into mid-week, and then cooling down a tad into the next week. When the sky clears up towards the end of the week, you might be able to catch Venus shining as bright as a star in the sky. SkyView or Night Sky are good apps to check.
WHAT'S COMIN UP
I'll be trying to feature more events farther away than the next few weeks, so folks can plan around potentially coming to LA or choosing when not to depart.
The CTO Talk Series (March 28) - Find out what CTO's are thinking about in 2023 and what technology challenges they're facing.
TECHSPO (April 12 - 13) - Where technologists and technology companies showcase what they're up to, who they're hiring, and what's next. Given the layoffs of 2023, this might be a window into how the industry lurches forward.
E3 Expo (June 11 - 16) - The biggest gaming event of the year needs no introduction.
Have an amazing week everyone!
